In eager anticipation of World Gin Day on 13th June (that’s this Saturday, folks), we bring you a one-of-a-kind cocktail recipe courtesy of Aber Falls Distillery in Snowdonia. This is no ordinary cocktail: it was created with the first gin to be distilled at 1085m above sea level at the summit of Snowdon. Raising the bar further still, award-winning bar tender Alex Mills – of Cardiff’s Lab 22 – rustled up this unique mountain cocktail to warm up walkers. Want to try it out for yourself? 40ml Aber Falls Welsh Dry Gin
10ml Xeco Fino Sherry
25ml lemon juice
20ml honey and lavender tea (mixed 1:1)
Mix in a cocktail shaker and strain over ice. Top with chilled with soda water and garnish with a sprig of lavender.
